1. Who We Are

Fisco Insurance Brokers Ltd ("Fisco", "we", "us") is an insurance brokerage licensed by the Insurance Regulatory Authority (IRA) of Kenya, with its registered address at Nyumba Moja Road, Karen, Nairobi, Kenya. We are a data controller within the meaning of Kenya's Data Protection Act, 2019.

2. The Data We Collect

We collect personal data you provide when requesting quotes, filing claims, creating a portal account or contacting us. This may include your name, contact details, identification numbers, vehicle or property details, health information necessary for medical covers, and payment information.

We also collect limited technical data (such as IP address and device information) needed to secure and operate this website.

3. Why We Process Your Data

We process personal data to: prepare and compare insurance quotations on your behalf; place and administer policies with underwriters; manage claims; comply with legal obligations under insurance, anti-money-laundering and tax laws; and respond to your enquiries.

Where we rely on consent (for example, marketing communications), you may withdraw it at any time.

4. Who We Share It With

To serve you we may share necessary data with: IRA-licensed underwriters and reinsurers when seeking quotations or placing cover; claims assessors, investigators and medical providers when handling a claim; and regulators or law-enforcement agencies where required by law. We never sell your personal data.

5. How We Protect It

We apply administrative, technical and physical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the data, including encryption of data in transit, hashed credentials, access controls and audit logging. Data is retained only as long as necessary for the purposes above or as required by law: quotation and policy records for seven years after the end of our relationship, in line with insurance and tax record-keeping obligations, and AI audit records for 12 months.

6. Automated Processing & AI Assistance

We use AI assistants to help prepare your file: triaging a claim so a handler has the documents list ready, drafting a renewal approach for an advisor, and answering general questions on this website. This is decision support for our staff, not decision-making.

No AI system approves, declines, values or settles a claim, quotes a premium, or places cover. Every such decision is made by a licensed human, and every draft an AI produces is reviewed by a member of our team before it reaches you or an underwriter.

Before your details are sent to an AI model they are replaced with tokens — your name becomes [PERSON_1], your policy number [POLICY_1] — so the model can reason about your case without receiving your identity. We keep an audit record of every AI run, including exactly what was sent, for 12 months.

You may ask us not to use AI assistance on your file at any time, and we will handle it manually instead. Contact us using the details below.

7. Transfers Outside Kenya

Two categories of processing take place outside Kenya: this website and its database are hosted on infrastructure operated by our cloud providers, and the AI assistants described above are operated by providers whose models run outside Kenya.

Where personal data is transferred out of Kenya under section 48 of the Data Protection Act, 2019, we rely on your consent and on contractual safeguards with those providers, and we minimise what is transferred through the tokenisation described above. We do not permit these providers to train their models on your data.

8. Your Rights

Under the Data Protection Act, 2019 you have the right to be informed about how your data is used; to access and correct your data; to object to or restrict processing; to deletion where lawful; and to lodge a complaint with the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner (ODPC).

9. Cookies & Preferences
